Atlantic China Welding Consumables was established in Shanghai 60 years ago as the China Welding Electrode Plant. The Shanghai plant was the first welding consumable plant in China. Today, it is a publicly listed company on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and is the leading manufacturer in China. The trademark “ATLANTIC” was registered in 1950 and the corporate office and main plant were re-located during the 1960′s to Zigong in the Sichuan province. The plant covers an area of 99,900 square meters. Atlantic has an additional 7 sub-factories in China and with the ability to produce over 400 types of products, they are divided into welding rods, welding wires, and automatic welding fluxes. The products include mild steel rods, cellulose rods, high toughness rods, low alloy steel rods, hardfacing rods, stainless steel rods, low temperature steel rods, Mo and Cr-Mo heat resistant steel rods, cast iron rods, Ni and Ni alloy rods; wires suitable for MAG, MIG, TIG, SAW and FCW welding; fluxes are classified into fused, sintered (agglomerated) and bonded types for submerged arc welding (SAW) and electroslag welding (ESW). Atlantic is building a new plant with 136,300 square meters of production space under one roof. Upon completion, Atlantic’s output will be 400,000 metric tons per year.
Atlantic welding consumables have the reputation of quality and consistency. They are widely used in power station boilers, pressure vessels, nuclear plants, bridges, ships, vehicles, petroleum and chemical industries, hydropower and thermal-power stations, skyscrapers, heavy machine equipments, and offshore drilling platforms at home and abroad.
